AURORA, IL, USA, January 19, 2023. The Aurora Women’s Empowerment Foundation (AWEF), a board-directed nonprofit foundation supporting other nonprofits engaged in female empowerment work in Aurora, is thrilled to sponsor the Aurora Regional Chamber of Commerce’s new LeadHER Speaker Series. The first event in the LeadHER series will be held on Friday, January 27th from 11am to 1pm at The Bit Theater (4034 Fox Valley Center Drive) in Aurora and features author and entrepreneur, Cheryl O’Donoghue, who will lead audience members on a journey of transformation and empowerment.
“When the Aurora Chamber told us they wanted to bring female and femme-leaning business professionals together to educate, engage, and inspire one another in a supportive environment we asked ‘How can we help make that happen?’” said Amy Baudouin, Board Chair at the Aurora Women’s Empowerment Foundation. “We also like that the Chamber is committed to bringing speakers who create take-action-now experiences for attendees. I’ve seen their first featured speaker, Cheryl O’Donoghue, and she will definitely get everyone pumped up about creating their best selves in the new year.”
The LeadHER Speaker Series seeks to help women overcome barriers that stand between them and leadership positions and to help women feel empowered to lead in the Aurora region. Tickets for the January 27 event are available to Chamber members ($35) and non-members ($45). Register now ensure your spot!
Authentic Reinvention: New Year, New You is an interactive workshop in which attendees will explore and uncover areas of their lives that may be “reinvention ready” and then create their own action plans to begin a reinvention journey that’s in alignment with their true selves. Even those looking for a small “tweak” to sweeten up their lives or uncover new possibilities, will receive tools and techniques to make that happen in the new year.
Cheryl O’Donoghue, MS serves as the workshop facilitator and is the author of three books and dozens of workshops focused on personal and professional development and brings 30 years’ experiences working in executive roles in nonprofit and for-profit businesses. Currently she is CEO and Founder of Ei Leadership Resources, a consulting firm specializing in nonprofit operations and communications. She also serves as an executive consultant to the Aurora Women’s Empowerment Foundation, a grant-making organization which exists to support Aurora-area nonprofits committed to female empowerment. Cheryl is no stranger to personal and professional reinvention. From her early experiences working in radio, TV, and live theatre to careers in banking, corporate training, college teaching, executive coaching, and healthcare, Cheryl has learned how to tap into her strengths and passions to create a life that allows her to be true to herself, while making contributions to the world around her. She’s excited to bring her Authentic Reinvention workshop to the Aurora Regional Chamber of Commerce community as they prepare themselves for an extraordinary 2023.
